October Update

Dear ministry partner:

I am writing you this month from the beautiful mountains of Colorado. For years the men in the church of Hill City KS have encouraged me to go on their Annual Fishing Retreat. I gave in this year. Recently a representative from a television show contacted me about producing a half hour documentary on First Love Ministries. After I told him all that we were involved in, he said they would love to come, film and hear about all God is doing. We sure are blessed with all of you that pray for us daily. Thank you for all of your prayers and support. If God supplies the funding for this, I will do it; otherwise, I will not.

Below is a testimony from John Romnes. John has travelled with me to Peru and India several times as well as the Philippines once. He has been so easy to travel with and truly a blessing to the work God has called us to do.

My wife Roxie and Paul Conger’s wife Cindy have been friends for 30+ years.  Through their friendship, I first met Paul in 2006 or 2007.  In 2008, Paul & I made our first overseas mission trip together to Chile, Argentina and Peru.  Since that time, I have been back to Peru 6 times, and to India three times with Paul, and once to the Philippines. I have seen first-hand the fruits of First Love Ministries in all of these countries, and have made many lasting “God connections”…  I feel that I have grown in my faith and that Paul challenged me to grow…  I remember well, when he said to me on the way to the Philippines/India and said; “Be prepared to preach everyday” (it was a 20+ day trip)….!

I could write pages about experiences we have had together… From working on construction, grocery shopping, preaching, teaching, praying for people, healings, deliverances, salvations, meeting rescued young girls in orphanages growing in their faith in a loving environment…, seeing and hearing Paul preach 8 – 9 times with relentless energy in one day in the hot/humid jungle area of Peru…, to being stranded at the Hong Kong Airport for 54 hours due to a typhoon and “political unrest”…. Thank you Paul Conger and First Love Ministries for all you are doing around the world, and the important part you have played in my walk with God….

New Hope Home Ground Breaking

To the right is a picture of the groundbreaking by Asha for The New Hope Home for girls. We now have invested over $62,000 on the 25 cuttah of land. $3500 for a water well and I sent $42,000 to build the ground level. It is going to be completed by January 25, 2015 for the dedication service.

Pastor Dann from the Philippines writes.

“We have had to delay the building of the new church because of the increase of terrorist activities in the area. Thank you for your prayers.”

FIRST LOVE MINISTRIES 25th ANNIVERSARY CAMP MEETING JUNE 14 – 19, 2015. Come join us in celebrating all God has done the past 25 years. This will be held in Rogers, AR. I have been setting aside 4 to 5 hours a week to pray and listen for Gods leading concerning what he would have me preach. We also will be having different morning speakers from around the world who are in leadership roles of First Love Ministries.

Our Christmas budget for buying every MARU child a new pair of shoes as well as all our girls in our girl’s homes is $2,030. Then buying every girl in our girl’s homes a new dress for Christmas is $1,800. Total Christmas budget $3,830. Please give as God leads you.

We held our Annual Board Member meeting recently. I am so blessed with wonderful like-minded Board Members. Things have been running so smoothly. As a Board we feel however it’s time to shake things up a bit and follow God’s leading by adding younger Board members. We are all about the same age and get along so well as friends. As agreed, Pastor Phil Hollis has stepped down off the board. Phil and Sheila Hollis have been my friends since before I met Cindy. They are so gracious and been a huge blessing to the FLM Board. Within the next year we also will be looking to replace one other Board Member. Please remember us in prayer as we seek Gods replacements.

September Update

Dear ministry partner:

Romans 12:11, “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” Thank you for being part of a ministry that truly does not lack in zeal. I want to make the greatest impact in the upcoming days, months and years than we ever have for the kingdom of God. You are part of this ministry through your prayers and support.

Apostle Blessings in Africa writes “Papa, thank you for sending the funds to pay for airfare to the states next June. It is exciting to plan to be with you during the 25th Anniversary of FLM. Thank you for the funds to build another church in Malawi and the support of 32 children in the MARU Project.” Praise God, it is the fourth church that we have helped build in Malawi this year.

Sister Karen Gabe writes “Hosanna and I have been traveling again this month.  After the three-day trip to Huanuco at the end of July (5 days counting the one day of travel time each way), we have had a couple of weekends in Tarapoto. At the end of this week, Hosanna, Shaaron Trigosa and I will make a trip to visit a church in a very remote part of the jungle.  (Shaaron is our interpreter and a member of the Fathering Leaders’ group.) The church we are going to visit is one of the Esmirna churches. The pastor and his wife told us no one had ever visited their church because of the distance. We will travel to Yurimaguas by car (which takes about 3 – 4 hours), and the pastor will meet us in Yurimaguas and travel with us as the rest of the trip (8 more hours), which will be by boat (boat, not ship). Our sleeping accommodations in the village will be hammocks that we are taking with us, as the pastor told us there is nowhere else to sleep.  This will be an adventure for all of us!”

GREAT NEWS FROM INDIA.  THE NEW HOPE HOME

Praise the Lord! After much delay from the government in India, we at last are moving forward. We have decided on the contractor and we will be wiring our first payment of three payments next week to build the New Hope Home for girls outside Kolkata India. We paid $62,000 for a large piece of property last year and now all is settled and the contractor says that he will begin building Sept 01 2014—yes–2014. He says the ground level will be built so we will be able to dedicate the building next February while we are in India. It seems to have been a long journey to get to this point but Praise God! THANK YOU for all your prayers.  As we progress, I will send pictures and keep you updated on my wire transfer in regards to the payment schedule. The home will be 100% paid for when it’s completed. Below is a small report of our current status.
Land bought and paid for 35 cuttah = $62,000
Dug well and built small fence           =    3,500

I approved bid.  $79,600 plus 3% transfer fee.                                                            2,400

Ground floor      2483928.                                                                                             41,000
First floor           1864372,                                                                                               30,700
Extra work         477000. sceptic system, etc.                                                                7,900
Total                    4825300 rupees.                                        GRAND TOTAL         $82,000

I was worshipping God in my home church when God showed me a vision. The vision had four cars pulling up at the same time to a four way stop. For some reason the other cars all went before me. As I was entering the intersection I heard God clearly say “It’s your time now.” I went home to have a discussion over the three bids that had come in to build The New Hope Home for girls. Maybe today you need those words from God for your situation.  It’s your time now. Friends it’s our time to build so we can rescue more girls. Join me in thanking God that all the funds are on their way.

Pastor Dann from the Philippines writes about the latest church we are building. The place is SAN FERMIN, Talakag Bukibnon.   The name of the Church is First Love Christian Fellowship. He is a faithful minister. There are many rebels in this area but it is after much prayer this is the area we feel God would have us build a church.
