First Love History
Our Story
A Call Answered
First Love Ministries began in 1990 when Evangelist, Paul Conger
answered God’s call to share the Gospel across the United States. As
doors opened for tent revivals and church gatherings, Paul’s ministry
grew—and soon, God expanded the vision beyond America.
A Defining Moment in India
While ministering in Kolkata, Paul confronted the harsh reality of child
exploitation. Moved to action, he rescued a 4-year-old girl and supported
her care. That moment became the first of more than 500 rescues.
Through First Love Ministries of India, Paul helped establish two girls’
homes, supported local churches, trained pastors, and built a strong,
faithful team to ensure each girl is safe, educated, and discipled to
become a powerful woman of God.
Partnering in Peru
In 2002, First Love partnered with Esmirna Iglesia in Tarapoto to fuel a
church-planting movement. Paul committed to help build 100 churches
and launched an annual pastors’ conference—drawing leaders from
remote regions for training and encouragement. In 2011, First Love
developed a training campus outside Tarapoto with dorms, storage,
gardens, and livestock to support ongoing ministry and leadership
development.
Growing in the Philippines
Beginning in 2011, First Love joined Pastor Dann Erlina in Mindanao to
plant churches and raise pastors and leaders. Together, we have built
several churches and continue to expand as God opens doors.
Legacy and Leadership
Paul Conger, a man of integrity and zeal for God’s people, went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2018, while serving at the pastors’ conference in Tarapoto. In March 2018, the U.S. board appointed Pastor David Austin, Senior Pastor of The Ridge Community Church (Pea Ridge, Arkansas), as President. Under his leadership, First Love Ministries continues advancing the Gospel and transforming lives around the world.
